We knew that the helmet would be a possibility for Whitley for a real long time. However, that possibility is now real as we await our appointment with Cranial Technologies of Dallas for September 18.
We have worked it out with a really good friend of ours that lives in Dallas. Chelsea will be picking us up from the airport on Fridays, taking us to our appointment, and then taking us back to airport. We know it won't be easy--but it will be worth it. Thank you Chelsea for helping us out. One less thing to worry about!!!
Okay--now for appointment details. We are going up the 18th of September for our evaluation. They are currently checking on insurance benefits and we should know something soon. If it is ok'd, we should get the scanning done the same day. That will save us a trip.
We hope that is won't be a long journey. We are expecting to go once a week for eight weeks. Anything less would be great!!! Please pray as we begin this journey!!! We are ready!!!

Hi there... you don't know me but I think I got to know your blog through MckMama or one of the organizations she talks about frequently. My son Andrew had plagiocephaly and also wore a helmet! It's always sorta nice when I run across another helmet baby, though it'd be better if they didn't have to go thru it in the first place, ya know? He tolerated it perfectly and he was so cute in his. Any questions or want to see pictures, let me know!
Was wondering what the helmet is for exactly (familiar with the basics...) and also if you have a time-frame yet. Constantly thinking of you, Jared and the kiddos....

Goodness Teri. I know this is never in the "plan" of any mom or dad...but you do want whats best for Ms. Whitley, I know that. I will pray for traveling safety and for God to give the doctors wisdom! Flying once a week is a lot and not only will it put a strain on you financially but mentally, physically, emotionally so you WILL be on my daily prayer list. GOD BLESS YOU TERI!

Hey guys,
Well, after all you've been through, a helmet is just a helmet - and it'll look really cute covered in pink stickers. Probably the stress of travel, the insurance, and the airports will be much more stressful on y'all than Miss Whitley will face to have a little rounded head. And hey - maybe the specialist will decide she doesn't even need it. We know Who is in charge, and He has never failed to provide (whether toaster or coffee pot - remember?).
We love you all,
